Free Store Event!

Our Free Store Event, put on with Progressive Student Union and Radical Student Union, was a great success! People got rid of unwanted clutter and fell in love with "new" items.

Some people asked why were putting this on - answer: for fun, to help our campus be sustainable, to promote recycling and reusing, and the lofty goal of shifting our cultural view of materialism from one of mere gain to that of community-based sharing!

And what does this have to do with Food Justice Alliance? Everything. Though our focus is on food, our even broader focus is to be part of the movement towards a self-sustaining and sharing community in every aspect of life, wether through gardens or free stores.

Want to see a Free Store become a permanent feature of GWU? So do we! Send us an e-mail and be a part of the Free Store project next semester!

Thanks to Green Move-Out for taking our leftovers to donate and to everyone who made the event a success!
